I am directed by Mr.Secretary
Bonar Law to acknowledge the receipt
of your letter No.193878/X/ of the 9th
October regarding antimony for for Messrs
Vogelstein & Company, New York, and to
Lord Robert Cacil request you to inform Viscount Grey of
Fallodon that it has not been kid down in
previous cases of shipments of Chinese
antimony from Hong Kong to the United
States of America that the importers
should be on the list of approved recipients
and have furnished the ordinary antimony
guarantee and that the ment to which
Viscount Grey agreed in the letter from
your Department of the 23rd November 1915
(54141) No.171281/15 was that the British Consul
General would release such antimony if
satisfied that it would be used in produc-
ing munitions for the Allies.

2. If, however, Lord Robert Cecil wishes
better under acknowledgment referred to ir your additional conditions to be enforced in the
present case, Mr.Bonar Law will inform the
Governor and Wessrs Rudolf Wolff & Company
that shipment cannot be allowed unless they
are fulfilled.
